  1. I bought a Pioneer DVR-107D recently and it works fine. I just had a couple of questions/issues:

    1. When I bought the drive, I also bought a 25-pack of BeAll printable DVD-R media. The first 12 discs burned fine at 8X, but all of a sudden, will only burn at 4X, with no software or hardware changes. Not a huge concern, but still a curiosity.

    2. Burned DVDs only play in my RCA RC6001P for about 24 hours. After that, the player comes up with "Disc Error", though the discs continue to play fine in the Pioneer drive. I haven't been able to test in any other player. Discs for myself are not a problem, but DVDs that I make for other people are.

Work is being done on a Dell Precision 330 workstation, 1300MHz, 256 RAM
DMA is enabled for the Pioneer master drive and the slave Sony CDRW. Hard drive is SCSI. Firmware for the drive upgraded to 1.13. Video is captured via Hauppauge PVR-350.

This is my first post and I hope I included all necessary information.

    Any suggestions/assistance would be appreciated.

  2. You seem to be the victim of poor DVD media. Even some of the
better brands have bad batches. The best like TDK and its ilk
are often more expensive but they work great. The only
cheap media I can recommend from personal use with the
Pioneer is Maxell but as I use a 106, I can't say if they
    will burn at 8x.
