    Hello!

I have found in the past (2 years) that anything video related on a PC is overly complicated. There never seems to be a standard way to do things and like

you I spend days trying to get various programs work together (so you may be heartend by the fact that you are not the only one who gets totally frustrated). I

usually find that if the video works, the audio screws up, if the audio works then the video screws up & if they both work then they will be out of sync!

To me things like this should just work. After all, it's not bloody rocket science is it? Or is it???
    Anyway...

    i) BeSweet is a DOS program, driven via the command line in a DOS session. I usually constuct a batch file to do this for me. For me the GUI extension for

BeSweet just constructs the command line for you (& hence no real need for any help files), it doesn't seem to actually RUN the program for you (I have found

that you have to run it in a DOS session). Usually BeSweet will then just do it's stuff - I have found it to be an excellent little program that deals with many

audio files that other programs just cannot handle.... That said I have had a few minor problems with it.

ii) When video programs report 'cannot open or unsupported' (assuming you have pointed correctly to the source etc) then this usually means that you are

missing a CODEC & hence the 'unsupported'. Also, Codecs do clash so be careful!

iii) A useful little program called GSpot can help unearth any Codec problems - just drop the problem video file onto it...

iv) Follow this codec installation guide: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/48608

    v) May seem like a daft question but what is your source video file you are trying to convert? Have you ripped it from somewhere? If so how?

    Hope this helps!

    Andy
    Work you bloody thing....

Convert your MP2 audio to WAV first. Then convert from that WAV to a new WAV doing the FPS change. Then you can convert your time corrected WAV back to MP2 if that is what you need as your final audio format.

BeSweet seems to work best doing the FPS change when you go from WAV to WAV.

    P.S.
Some versions of DVD2AVI are "buggy" so be sure to get the latest version which should (knock on wood) be OK. If TMPGEnc still won't load the D2V project file then you need to look into your ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS ... their is a TAB called "VFAPI plug-in" and there should be something in there regarding DVD2AVI ... raise the priority level ... should do the trick.
