  1. I'm capturing AVI files with my all-in-wonder 9600 card and they play just fine. The trouble starts when I import them into another application for editing or burning to DVD. Each time after rendering or burning to disk, the audio is 15 frames ahead of the video. I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro, Nero Vision Express and the Mainconcept encoder. Each ends with the same result. Premiere also for some reason won't recognize any audio (pcm setting) from the AVI files. I've been having to import the AVI's into Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 to recreate the audio in order for it to work. Gahhhhhhh! I think I'm starting to go coo-coo!

I had a similar problem when trying to re-merge to segments of a movie that I *ahem* got from the internet.

    *ahem* sorry.

    Background:
The problem stemmed from the fact that the movie was using the AC3 audio codec & anything that attempted to simply merge the two files into one just went tits up!

I then spent about 2 sodding days trying to strip out audio (to a different format than AC3) and video so that they could then be remuxed & then joined - the problem was that the bloody audio was always 1sec behind the video (and then ac2sec lag on the second part of the movie).

    Solution I found:
    1) Used BeSweet to strip out the audio & compress on the fly to the MP3 format.
    2) Used VirtualDub v1.5.4 to Direct Stream copy just the video to *.avi.
    3) Reinsert MP3 audio into *.avi video stream using NanDub v1.0rc2.

Aka the solution to the problem was to use BeSweet. I tried all sorts of stuff but everthing put in a second of silence at the start of the audio - trying to cut this out using SoundForge did not work either! I have no clue as to why this was happening but I know that BeSweet JFDAIWT. (Just F-ing Did As It Was Told).

    Hope this solves your problems!
