  1. Hi
Ihave a file in the *.DVDRip.DivX.CD.1.avi format. I am trying to convert it to a vcd so I can view it on my dvd player. I get a sound sync problem using TMPGenc..So as suggested in this forum I tried,
    1. Using VirtualDUB to create an uncompresses wav file and used it as audio source input in TMPGenc and the sound sync problem again- FAILED
    2. I recreated the avi file using VirtualDUB(it was double the original size) and then used TMPGenc to convert it to MPEG and the sound sync problem again - FAILED
    3. I tried using Aare AVI to VCD creator and that created 3 mpegs with the sound sync problem again. - FAILED
    4. The avi file I have is 716mb...I cant convert it to MPEG and put it on 1 cd so I also tried splitting it into 3 parts to put on 3 cds and I get the same Audio Sync Problem - FAILED
    Any suggestions, please HELP!!!!!
Also attached is the screen capture of the file info of the avi file from VirtualDUB...

    Thanks

What sound format is it and what is wrong with the synch? Is it constantly out by the same amount throughout the video, or does it drift more and more?
    Hello.

  3. Did you try setting "Directshow Reader" to the highest priority in TMPGEnc?

Is the audio MP3? If so, you could try VirtualDubMod (not VirtualDub) to demux the file (not decode). It sounds like you might have VBR audio. (maybe just offset)

Use an external decoder to decode, preferably Lame, or MAD (Mpeg Audio Decoder). An external decoder should have better accuracy than the Windows ACM decoder.
