  1. Hi all. I want to take a video file directly off of a dvd and convert it into an mpeg for later burning on another disk.

I followed the directions here on the site to extract the video file I want off of dvd decryptor. The following files were extracted:

    VTS_02 - Stream Information
    VTS_02_0.IFO
    VTS_02_1 - 0x80 - Audio -AC3 2ch - 48kHz - DRC - DELAY -66ms.AC3
    VTS_02_1 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 704x480 (NTSC) - 4~3
    VTS_02_2 - 0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 - 704x480 (NTSC) - 4~3

I didn't make this home video disk, but are there two separate video entries for the video I have extracted, or is this normal?

There is one audio clip, not two. With the two video clips, one ends right where the second begins. I tried to merge them with tmpgenc, but I was told that the second video file was not an mpeg file.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Read the DVD section to the left. This is a matter of you understanding how the DVD structure works.

  3. Apollo1980,
Can you tell us more in detail?
What exactly you wanted to do? Why convert to MPG if you just want to make a copy?

The reason I want to extract to a mpeg is so that I can:

1.) Edit out some things I don't want

2.) Reburn with a better menu system, and possibly with other videos.

Once I have an mpeg that I want, I'll reauthorize and burn.

  5. Could it be that a proper header is missing on the second m2v file? If so, what do I do to get it back?
