    i get the error downloading codec message when i use WMP to view a few mpg's. ive tried to install gordian knot codecs but i get a message saying that its not best or not for my system to install. i have had the mpg working before. when i use video toolbox to find the proper codecs i get some kind of, i think french error message on one mpg, the other one shows with all the info on in the middle box (video) being blank.
    im most certain that its just a codec problem, is there another codec pack that will work?

    well to answer my own question and make a new one.
    SLD codecs 1.5.3 worked.
    but does anyone know why i was getting the errors installing gordian knot?
