  1. Can anybody help me out?
The thing is.... I have an AVI and I want to re-encode/convert it to an AVI with DivX Codec.

I normaly use VirtualDub, but I want something easy.
Like something that works with a step by step interface.

    Step 1: Load Source.
Step 2: Choose Codec, max size and stuff
Step 3: Choose Destination and start converting.

  2. Dr Divix will do that. Gordian Knot is also good as is Xvid.
See the tools link on the left hand side for all the info and links.

  3. Well can you explain how you can use Gnot to convert from one avi to another? I have the same task to be done. And yes I'm aware of the quality los and all that. But the way Gnot handles DVD2AVI conversion is exactly the way I want it to handle a AVI2AVI conversion.

    Thanks!

  4. AVS video converter will do it with about 3 clicks.

  5. Well yes, it can do something with a few clicks. But I was looking for something a little more complex. Like GNot where you can change resolution, crop and do multipass DivX (og XviD) and have some help to decide size, bitrate and the likes.

Actually what I would like is a way to use an avi as input for GNot. Alternatively a Guide to do a two pass DivX conversion using VirDub. Thats really what I need...
