    Is it possible to record direct from a DV camcorder to the hard drive? Let me elaborate. I would like to record live events through my camera directly to the computer without putting it on tape. Is this possible?

    Yes it should be no problem assuming your camera has a firewire port. a program such as ScenalyzerLive
    , DVapp or DVIO will do the job nicely.

    yep, you should be able to. just put the camera into camera mode and hook it up via firewire. then use dvio or windv or whatever program you like, and capture the file.
