  1. hi, I've tried to capture directly in divx using virtualdub, but if I use an mp3 audio compression while I acquire, the program crashes immediatly and I have to reset. Is this correct? If so, why capturing in divx and audio uncompressed then convert it and not capture A & V uncompressed and convert both after? thanks everybody.

Because capturing to uncompressed video requires tons of hard drive space....the audio don't and it don't take so much time to reencode only the audio to mp3.

  3. I see, thanks a lot, but how to reencode just the audio with virtualdub? I've tried to acquire in divx and pcm, then open the capture.avi file and do audio -> full processing mode and the compression -> mp3 etc, but when I save the file it gets enormous. does the video become uncompressed? do I have to specify video compression again toghether with audio? thanks again and sorry for my english!
this forum is great, hope people don't get angry with all my questions!
