Hi all. We are the proud owners of a Canopus DV Storm2 setup, on a WinXP, Pentium4 based computer.
We're having some difficulty with aspect ratio issues. We are capturing from beta tape, using a Canopus profile in Premiere Pro 1.0, by default set to 720x480, 0.9 pixel ratio. Playback of this project in Premiere always produces correct ratios when outputting directly to broadcast TVs and monitors.
Exporting a Canopus AVI however produces a stretched image, both with settings of 1.0 (square) and 0.9 ratios (defaulted to 720x480 in both cases). Exporting using Microsoft's DV AVI 0.9 ratio produces a correct-sized image, but of course takes MUCH longer to export. Exporting as Canopus MPEG-2, or MainConcept MPEG-2 also produces correct-sized images.
We need to be able to capture beta tape footage, and have the output as BOTH Canopus AVI files with correct aspect ratio AND correct aspect ratios via the Canopus output.
What are we missing?
