I have XP, but if I didn't find any Linux drivers for this card or if there are any available.

Happauge WinTV 250/350 Windows/Linux

Ether seems good, but will have to investigate which editing software would be good to use to preven de-sync issues.

I'd like hardware mpeg 2 feature which helps bog down the cpu for video processing.

What to choose....what to chose..... sure can be tough.

meant to say which help not bog down the computer processor but those two seem good. Avermedia has good recording quality, but with no linux support that I've seen doesn't reallly help.
