  1. i got a bunch of simpsons (good quality avi files) in my computer. i decided to put them on dvd's so I could play them on my home dvd player. the easiest & quickest way I could think of was to hook up my set-top dvd recorder to my computer's graphic card's "video out" port.... & push "record". this works ok but i noticed the video quality is not as good as oppose to recording from live tv(satelite)??.

Is there a reasonably priced graphics card out there that'll put out good video to tv? my current video card is an Asus geForce3.

    thanks in advance 8)

Matrox has (IMO) the best TV out.

You can also look into the Real Magic XCard (~$99) which is a hardware Divx decoder with outputs for your TV. The quality is said to be great.

One thing you can try, is to lower your computers resolution to 640x480, and try different video players, to see if that will improve quality. There is a video player (Sasimiki2k ? it's in the tools section) that has built in post processing filter to help improve quality.

    Agreed!

    I have Matrox G400, G450, G550, and P750, as well as an ATI 8500DV.

If you don't mind the $$$, go for a Matrox P750, or a P650 to save a little, if you don't need triple output.
