I´m about to install one extra harddrive and a dvd burner on my system and Im not sure which IDE channels to use.

In total I now have one 100 Gb and one 120 Gb hd, both 7200rpm. I have one cd-rw burner and one DVD burner.

Ive got the 100Gb drive with win XP on IDE 0 as master. Where should the rest go? Im planning to use the 120 Gb for video only.

Im sorry if this question has been asked many times before. I have done a search but I didnt find an answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Stick your extra harddrive(make sure it set to slave on the jumper settings) on the same IDE as your master harddrive.

Stick the DVD burner on the same IDE as your Cd-Rw. i'll assume that the CD-RW is set at master, so put the DVD Burner to slave.

I would keep the hdds on separate ide for better transfers between them and same with the cd/dvd drives.

ok, thanks, but since I will be having all video on my 120 Gb hd, most of the transferring will be from that to the dvd burner?
