  1. Please help, I am trying to find solution to my problem for the past 2 weeks but so far unsuccessfully. I have AutoGK and SimpleDivX each of which installed its own, I presume, VirtualDubMod (VDM). However, when I try using either of them VDM crashes with "An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'ntdll'." I have latest XVid codecs. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? This happenned to different DVD's that I tried to back up therefore source is not the problem. Please help. Thanks a lot in advance.

  2. Virtualdub mpeg2 can do pretty much the same as vdubmod, worth a try, and better than vdubmod imo.

Yes, and there's a reason there are so many versions of VirtualDub. A particular version may be more suitable for what you're trying to do. The AC3 and the MP3 & Video Freeze builds are useful too. Good luck.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

  4. Well, I like easy to use packages, like AutoGK or SimpleDivX since the learning curve for me would be too steep to learn new software, and I am a total n00b to video encoding/editing. Also, I would like to use the latest MPEG4, not MPEG2. So, does anybody know the solution to my particular problem. I've googled a bit and seems to me that tons of people have this problem, however, I could not find even a single solution.

  5. For the sake of people who would have the same problem in the future and use google to find the solution I am posting a reply to my own question. I've reinstalled XVid codecs but it did not help. So, I've installed DivX codecs and now VirtualDub works like a charm. So, if get the same error then most likely your problem is a codec.

  7. I worked with the latest XVid codec. It must be that it is full of bugs.
