An Idea: Home video share/trading.

I just had an idea maybe some people might be interested in. After seeing the post about people sharing their videos of their rides to work I thought maybe some people might want to share their home made personal dvds. This could be anything you want to create and of course no copywrited stuff. You could put a brief description of what the video is, your address and maybe people could send you $2 for the DVD/postage charges and you could send them the dvd.

or we could had a website with streaming video or downloadable pieces. WHat I usually do is put it in a Kazaa file under and odd coded and uncommon name, like nepitanomus12 or hilihocumfur586. Then I tell everyone in a forum the file name and have them look it up to download. makes it easy to find and keeps a ton of people from trying to download it all at once. And I don't need webspace or have to give out my email or home addresses. Purty kewl.

Ya the thing about the home address is not comfortable to some people. Also I am sure most people would actually send the dvd and not try to pocket the $2. What need to really happen is some home base where people could send their dvds to and someone to handle copying them and sending them out. I am kind of too busy for this so maybe people would not mind giving out their address too much.

I can copy DVD's and send them out with no problem. I'd either use my work address or PO Box, but it's easier and cheaper for all parties to go to Kazaa, unless you're on dial-up, then it might be a long download. If that's the case, I'd say find a friend with a broadband modem and hook your comp. up to it for the download. bit of a hassle, but it beats paying for stuff.

I've done that, too. Like I said, it's so much easier and the people can decide to keep it or trash it if they don't want it. Heck, they can re-edit it sometimes and make it a bit funnier.
