  1. My questions is is this possible? I don't see how it shouldn't, but I just wanted to check here before I buy a capture card, and try it.

My goal is to capture playing a game on Computer Awith Computer B using the best possible resolution. So the best way seems fit to go computer to computer.

Is there a better way besides S-Video to do it? Like a DVI In port on high end capture card? Just wondering for comparisons sake.

Fraps is out of the picture since I don't want my computer being hit hard while I am playing the game.

    Thanks.

I've done this before while using two computers with one monitor. You will get a fuzzy picture or one that seems out of focus. Much like you do when you run a video cable from you vid card to your TV. I bet you'd actually get better results going from your PC to VCR. Record while your playing, then capture that onto your PC later. Sure it will be less resolution but much better quality IMO.

I've done it before, and it worked fine for me. You also have to go audio-out on the machine you're playing on to audio-in on the capturing machine if you want sound.

I tried it with UT and while not perfect, it was certainly good enough.

I do this when I daisy-chain PCs and video equipment for complex restoration work. Not fun, but always good results (if the in/out on the cards is good ... I use ATI AIW right not, works fine, looks great).

You've started your own topic, that's enough. Don't go digging up and bumping every old post you can find.
