permanently adding sub help

i am following this tutorial https://www.videohelp.com/srtsubsvirtual.htm . i went through it but when i add the anything.vdr to tmpgenc it pop up a message reading "illegal stream format"

yea i still can't get the anything.vdr to load. i tired to load the avi itself and tmpgenc load it fine.

And did you change the DirectShow priority?
