  1. Some xvid movies are encoded in Dolby Digital 5.1, 448 kbps and it sounds like it's in slow motion and the video seems like it's a slower bitrate although other non Dolby Digital 5.1 xvid movies with same bitrate seem ok. Can anyone help me?
    Thanx.

You haven't put any system specs in your profile, so it's hard to say if it's your hardware or something else. What AC-3 codec are you using to hear the audio ? What are your PC specs ? It could be that your PC doesn't have enough grunt to decode the audio and video streams at full speed, or that you have a poor AC-3 codec. Without more details it's just guessing.

Ditto. We need more information. But I've listened to enough DVDs with 384 kb/s and 448 kb/s to know that the main difference 448 makes is clarity.

  4. Sorry for not putting my hardware and codec info.

    Dell Dimesion 4400
    1.6 GHz Intel P4
    1 GB Ram
    ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro (128MB)
    160 GB HDD
AC-3 Codec i'm using is from the NIMO CODEC PACK V 5.0 BUILD 7 but Divx & Xvid codecs are the most updated versions.

Hope this might give someone an idea of why the video in question is not playing properly. FYI-the movie is "Blade" although other movies with the same encoding are playing fine. For some reason, the video is not smooth and audio sounds like it's in slow mo. Also, Master & Commander doesn't play smooth but audio is ok.

    Please help.
    Thank You.
