1-pass is a bit confusing using CCE. It has a 1-pass that uses quantization, and the multipass VBR with 1-pass which is more like a 2 pass for other encoders. It first create the VAF file then does 1 pass, and the quality is great and you have total control of bitrate.

I concur with Thor on this one.
CCE's "1 pass" is roughly equivalent to anyone else's "2 pass".
In fact, IIRC, CCE Basic limits you to 2-pass, which is like... err... 3-pass everywhere else? I might be getting a bit mixed up on what Basic allows you to do, I haven't used it in a long time. Heh.
