Hi,

i have been making DVD's containing whole seasons of programs, either from avi sources or ripped from my standalone dvd recorder.

i make dvd compliant mpeg 1 files eg vcd with 48 khz audio and proper GOP limit.

the problem comes when i author the DVD, everything goes as normal untill i try to play either the mounted image on a virtual drive, or as an actual burned DVD.

The problem must be with the number of files in 1 track. ive made plenty with 3 or 4 files per track, no problem. but in doing these there can be upwards of 8 - 13 or more. which cause some to become unplayable eg just stalls after 1 sec in and wont play anymore. but it only happens in random chapters, say 5,8 and 12 but the rest all play fine.

the only solution is to put them in seperate tracks, which i dont want to do as it messes up the menus. or use the mpeg tools in tmpg enc to join them all into 1 file. this 1, 5 or 6 hour file plays fine.

anyone have any ideas.

Baz
