I used DVDremake to take out some extra content on a DVD. I removed trailers, deleted scenes, etc. I also removed a couple of the menus. The menus I removed were the extra content menus. After burning the disc, it played perfectly on my computer with PowerDVD and on one of my standalone DVD players. On my other, newer standalone player, the menus played properly, but when starting the movie, it would play about one or two seconds of video then go right to the next chapter. Then it would play a second or two from that chapter, then go to the next, and so on.
Any thoughts??
Thanks

What's the video? I know that some Disney DVDs are finicky, with different angles and branching. I especially had problems with Lion King 1.5

What type of media are you using? What is the model of your standalone?
The fact that it plays perfectly on PowerDVD would lead me to look at the media first. However, software players seem to be more forgiving than standalones with error handling.
If you're confident you have good media, then it may be that you inadvertently deleted or altered some commands when you deleted menus and content. For example, there is a big difference between "deleting" the menu and "hiding" the menu. I am not able to give you the nitty-gritty detail, but it has something to do with re-writing the link order when you delete, vs leaving everything the same and just making the menu button un-clickable when you "hide". I have been using the "hide" function to avoid any potential issues. In fact, I believe this is covered in the their Guides or on their forum somewhere. You can access the forum for DVDReMake here:

and the User Guides here:

Sorry I can't be of more help, but maybe those two resources will get you going in the right direction.

it is better to use Hide instead of Delete
what brand is the standalone that won't play the DVD?
as for PowerDVD, I would never use that apart from anything but an actual player as it plays DVD's even if the structure is broken. Mark's Tray DVD player is a far better player to use to see whether you will have any playback issues
