  1. If i explain what i want to do then this will make more sense.

I have VCD and SVCD files i want to put onto DVD using my OWN GUI, i know there is tools like svcdtodvdmpg and dvdpatcher but i want to create my own.

So far i am planning on using SSRC or WAVEFS44 for audio resampling and mpgtx for dumuxing the mpeg video streams

I just want a tool for encoding AUDIO and muxing the streams to produce a final MPEG stream which i can patch myself with the correct header.

    Any body know any tools?

For audio you can use azid. Its a command line AC3 encoder that works pretty well. If you'd rather use mpeg audio then use toolame.

As for a command line multiplexor, the only ones I know of off hand are the ones available on mpeg.org's site. I have no idea how well they work or if they can produce dvd compliant program streams, but its worth a shot.

    Any other places?

To multiplex use mplex from the mjpeg tools (linux tools). Can be found compiled ready for use with cygwin.

Take a look at Liquid's DVD Author GUI. If you download this, it comes with CLI programs for multiplexing, and authoring, and the need cygwin dlls.

I'd suggest ffmpeg to encode to AC3 - never tried azid, so I can't comment on it, but have frequently used ffmpeg. And mplex is what to use to multiplex, yes.

  8. Audio stream extraction to WAVE can be done with besweet using vobinput.dll, i dont remember the exact syntax. I believe its all in the help files, just combine a few switches i think.

  10. I believe that DVD2SVCD uses madplay to extract audio to a PCM wav.

I think, however, that the mpeg stream is usually de-muxed first though.

Might be worth a look for you.

I think this is the homepage for MAD:

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

P.S. DVD2SVCD also uses a commandline version of bbMPEG for multiplexing. A lot of people reckon bbMPEG's very good at this.
