    high guys

first off i read and followed the advice in common tmpgenc problems...

i tried to convert 4 movies and only one worked......i am using tmpgenc 2.59.47.155...

as with another try......while opening video source....i get an error saying exactly.....

"file XXXXXXX cannot open or is unsupported"

i am trying to open the mpg file from the mpg 2 folder...i also extracted the mpg from the bin and tried to open that.......same results

    the advice i followed is
"Try first to change the directshow codec reader priority settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 2 or to the top of the plugin-list and try reopen the video.
If that does not help be sure that you have installed DivX or XviD or MPG2 or DV Codecs, read here how to identify what codecs you need."

i have the proper codec installed..i can watch the files on my media player

    any suggestions?

It sounds like you're trying to use an MPEG directly drag/dropped from an SVCD. Try opening the image with IsoBuster, right-clicking the MPEG and selecting 'Extract but FILTER only M2F2 Mpeg frames'. This will extract the MPEG correctly from the Mode2 CD. Mode2 is probably why you're having trouble.

  7. Look for the utility AuxSetup.exe in the VDub folder - double click it.

Click 'Install handler' - this will install the VDub frameserver.

Back in VDub load your MPEG, select the File menu and Start Frame server.
Click Start on the next prompt 'Framerserver setup'.
Save the frameserved AVI - ensure that you add the .vdr filetype!
You should(!) now be able to open the .vdr file that you've just saved with TMPGEnc - load it as the Video Source.

Remember that you need to keep VDub running until you've finished with the frameserver .vdr file.

    Martin.
