  1. Do most tabletop DVD recorders do recording to Mini-DVD's?

I just ordered a JVC DRM10SL, I can't seem to find an online manual or spec sheet that shows me if it supports recording to Mini-DVD.

In fact, I've noticed that most vendors seem to leave that off their spec. Is that because it is virtually the same thing as recording to standard DVD (just smaller size and capacity)? ...and it's assumed to do Mini's, if it does the standard size discs?

It seems like most of the disc trays have an indent to support Mini-DVD/CD. Is that only for playing? ...or recording also?

Does anyone have any experience with recording Mini-DVD's?

    Thanks,

    Dana

Yes it does support the 8cm (3") DVD-R and DVD-RAM as indicated on page 7 of the manual which you can download from the following:

    http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=DR-M10SUS

and most DVD recorders support recording/playback on these mini-DVD discs if you could find them.

  3. Thanks for your reply kcfoulk,

The link you provided is for the JVC DR-M10SUS, not the JVC DRM10SL. However, I suppose they are similar in that respect.

    Regarding your other statement:

Here are just a couple of places to obtain the Mini DVD's:

    http://www.meritline.com/minidvdr.html

    http://www.onestopmediashop.com/order.html

    Thanks again,

    Dana

Not to be nitpicking, but this is the correct link to the US version of the manual (just see the last page). There are three different versions of the manual on the JVC website: DR-M10SUS, DR-M10SUC, and DR-M10SUJ if you click on "User Manuals" on the left column, and then type in "DR-M10SL".
