    Hi all,

Please, I've hear people say that "this" DVD-R is MCC, that "other" DVD-R is CMC, etc, etc; what is it all about ?

I've looked at the Glossary but haven't found explanations for these terms, maybe someone can add these to the Glossary ?

Also, I've realized most guys prefer Tayo-Yuden, please, how can I identify the "proper" ones ?

Can anyone point me an online retailer that sells the "good" TY and how can I identify them ?

    Thanks,

    Zetti

Problem is that post makes no mention of what a media code really is.

  6. Just to clarify for anyone reading this thread (by the way you have a typo in the title, MMC refers to ATI Multi Media Centre, which has nothing to do with DVD media whatsoever... MCC is what you meant).

The Media codes you refer to are used to identify the dye maker of DVD media (which can often be different from the brand the DVDs are eventually sold under).

The freeware 'DVD Info Pro' will typically give you info on your recorder capabilities as well as the media you put in it (if present) and give you the media code.
