What cameras are you using to tape these journeys ? I'd love to tape one but I ain't got a video camera - I could borrow one though.

I'm going to film today, dunno how I'm going to set the camera up in the car though. I don't particularly like holding something while driving since my drive isn't all easy highway miles, especially just getting out of my driveway.
As for editing that video down I don't have an OS on the new machine yet. Still waiting for my Windows CD to arrive. I'd try editing it on the 1.6 P4 I've got upstairs but it doesn't have any of my video software on it other than TMPGEnc. Maybe I'll use Windows Movie Maker 2 just to bug everyone
This should be a good opportunity for me to see just how much bandwidth my website account can deal with. Always wanted to give it a run -
i cheated and got someone else to drive, i think cap had his strapped to his head (?)

flaninacupboard,
Very sorry - I had to trim a small section out of your video (the pavement view between your house and car) to fit northcat's video on. I hope you don't mind.
Northcat should have his video up pretty shortly. You and I get a special driving manoeuvre! 8)

Here is my drive to work. I decided to voice over the original audio because I was a little hungover this morning.
Clip is 13 MB and 5 minutes long.

Thanks again for hosting the file Cobra -

Tacking it to the dash won't work either since it won't even survive the trip out my driveway like that, not to mention the DSR-250 won't fit on the dash. My little Sony would, but even that would become a missile within the first minute of my drive.
I guess I'll have to turn it on occasionally and just hold it up to get a look around. I take a "shortcut" through a park reserve so I need both hands on the wheel. I'll have to figure out how to mount it better to show that stretch -
my original thought was to tie it to the passenger headrest. i'll take a peek at northcats effort at lunch time.

I'm downloading northcat's now. I got an interlace error when I just clicked on it.
Edit: Saved it first and then opened. OK. Damn WMP9
Nice video northcatRural Dayton is exactly how I remember it
You were hauling major ass to work -
just seen northcats vid - great, loved the speeding and the voice over. Could use a little swearing though.

Excellent video, Northcat_8.
And Capmaster, too.
I'm going to film my journey to work next week, and see if I can store it on my Xdrive so y'all can download it. Unless someone else here can host it, I may have to upload a collage instead for the time being.
How strained are you for space, Cobra? -
so how did you enjoy it in england northcat?
Cobra's maxed out, didn't you see his warning up the page? -
Thanks. I'm glad you guys liked it.
@vcd -I re-did the voice over a few times because of all the profanity in it. Maybe I should have left it
@capmaster - rural ohio is constant, the colors change with the season. I have a serious speed fetish. I love speed, the faster the better...it's the sudden stops that I fear
@Indo - Thanks. Now where's yours? Next week?? So the wife grounded you from the video camera didn't she?
@flan - England was alright, I usually go to england on the way home from the bar though -
Sorry, indolikaa. As much as I would like to help you out, those pricks at Computing Services won't lend me any more of the 342GB they have free on their server...
Cobra -
I have 5GB daily bandwidth and plenty of room on my server. I'll mirror the old ones if Cobra wants to take on the new ones. I'm renaming the files to the associated poster's name. I'll have the current three up shortly.
-
something else i thought may be fun, posting a clip of what your workplace -sounds- like. obviously northcats' will be an empty room, so not too fun. cobras' will be cool bubbly lab noises, caps' will be screaming tortured aliens, indos will be the sound of wine coolers relenting......
anyone else think it's a good idea? -
