They don't use "stoop" anywhere else? Then what do they call it?Originally Posted by Capmaster

His name was MackemX
What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
Cap - you sound like a younger Ned, the guy who phones the cable company about the gay channel.
I'd love to tape my journey but the swearing alone would use too much bandwidth.

Oh Daley's definitely a Chicago boy. So was his dad, "Da Mare", Richard J.Does Mike Royko still write a column in the Sun Times? I used to love his attacks on city hall and Frank Sinatra when he was in town

Have you seen the quick start guide, flan?

I take it you are using WarFTP. -

well i'm behind a software firewall, and there's a hardware router upstairs somewhere, that's probably the problem.

I wasn't trying to say that but with hindsight that's what it looks like. Just trying to help out.

Nice job flan (didn't need to PM you, could have saved it for here). I like the town - very English-looking. Is that Northants?
The narrow streets would take some getting used to, but they're really no worse than in most urban or semi-urban places here.
Thanks Flan!

Wouldn't a 38kbps dialup save in Windows Movie Maker work?
Not the greatest quality, but small filesize, and no extra software to install.
I think everything will play WMV without plugins/addons...
I shrunk a 1hr:54min (380 meg) avi to 29 meg.
BTW, I like bulletproof FTP. Not free, but seems easier to set up.
Cap, you posted something about "mac-daddy" earlier...have you seen the hat? (obscure reference to something nobody here may know anything about).Cheers, Jim

Mac Daddy used to mean in control, hip, respected, etc. I put that in there because Cobra has really been a stand-up post ho today.
Now who the hell knows what "Mac Daddy" means. The circles I hang in now don't usually "chill" at the streetcorners, so I'm hopelessly out of touch anymore

What radio station was that? I couldn't function without TJ Trout and Joe Camel talkin' about selling cigarettes to the kids at the State Fair. -

The traffic at the Wyoming gate is from the heightened security we've had on base since 9/11/01. When it's Force Condition Delta, I can't even get on base to go to work. Right now it's "Alpha" so it's only checking every badge, but it slows down traffic. Gone are the days of just glancing at the vehicle decal and waving cars through. Thanks Al Qaeda
That was part of my personal collection of commute CDs I put together from all my favorites. I don't listen to the radio anymore - too many commercials. :P -

When the Iraq war started the condition went to "Bravo and "Charlie" but never got to "Delta" again. Delta is when there is an imminent threat. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie are levels of increasing likelihood from "possible" to "likely". All base security steps up in increments depending on the level, naturally. -

I don't think the story had such an impact over here, mainly because we're used to attacks from the IRA, the -real- IRA, the -other- IRA and the RWA. some people took it really seriously, the place i worked cancelled a week long showing of pearl harbour that was meant to be on at the end of september. the show had sold out so i was really surprised they did that. plus i don't really see how the two are related, and in any case i expect pearl harbour is an anti-war film. -
