  1. HI! I have a problem:
I have burnede a video of mine on a dvd-r but it doesn't play on my tv dvd player. Along with the million of possible reasons for which it doesn't play is it possible that the dvd is burned with different region codes with that of my player?

I live in Italy (region code is 2 I presume) and here's what I used:
TMPGENC dvd author to create the image
    nero 6 to burn it
    sony dru 530a dvd writer
the brand of the dvd-r is unknown... it's a very cheap and low quality brand and i expect it's one of the reasons it doesn't play

if the region code is a problem, how can I get past it? is there a software that lets you select the code?

  3. All recordable DVD you burn are always region-free.

You should certainly try different media. RW is very handy for testing.

I had some weird problems witk Maxell DVD-R discs with my DVD1E. Made a copy of disc (Toast 6) onto Philips DVD+RW, which works perfectly. Media issue.

Weird thing is, theoretically -R should work better on few years old units, like DVD1E, than +RW?
