  1. I've been trying to find this quote for ages but to no avail so I thought I'd see if anyone here could help me.

    It's from Ghandi I believe and goes something along the lines of;

    "Some men rule the world by force and persistence whilst others rely on sheer charisma"

    It's along those lines but longer and is not word for word but it gives the gist of the quote.

    Cheers.

    I searched for "rule" and "charisma" but I couldn't find the one you mention, but I found this great database that's alphabetically sorted:
    http://www.mkgandhi.org/epigrams/contents.htm

    You might have better luck than I did

  3. After some extensive googling and other searches I don't think the author of the quote was Ghandi.

    I was thinking that too. I looked under the headings for power, Man/Mankind, violence, character, strength, etc. No luck :P

    I did, however, find this one which kind of shocked me because of Gandhi's beliefs. I suspect it's because it's the lesser of two evils with him. Regardless, he obviously felt strongly about it because several of his quotes contain the same basic message:

    "Where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence"

    I've never heard of your quote before, but here's one of mine.

    Life is nothing more than an uncontrollable dream, and your dreams are an unknown reality.
    I came up with that when I was in high school and I won an award for it in an english class. I forgot all the rules I had to follow but I know I was to pick 2 things that pertained to each other and use them to compliment or contrast each other, or something along those lines.

    Sorry this was no help, but I'm a post whore and I felt like leaving a message here.
