  1. i have been having some trouble trying to convert this xsvcd mpg2 to large avi. i want to make the 720x576 pal 25fps mpg2 to a std ntsc vcd mpg1. when i use dvd2avi to save the mpg2 as an avi the output files are all static, similar to having a tv tuned in to a channel that isnt there. the .d2v method wont work for me either because i want to deinterlace it and i dont like tmpgenc's deinterlacer, i want to run it through vdub and do what i need to do there. thing is .d2v will not open in vdub. any ideas?

Convert the .d2v with VFAPI to *vfapi.avi and open that in VirtualDub.

If you like to use Avisynth instead of VirtualDub, get the MPEG2dec plugin to make Avisynth reading .d2v files.
