I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my mouse cursor with my Optical Mouse jiggles on my screen? This SUCKS when trying to draw a circle manually in Paint. What can I do?

Give it something to reference, instead of that glassy smooth desktop that you now use.

A book may not have the best background. Use something with a speckled background, so the mouse can determine that it is moving. I had this problem with a pullout section of my desk. It has a glossy gray background. The mouse didn't know if it was coming or going. I finally bought some stick-on shelf lining paper with a mottled background and put this on my pullout. The mouse now works fine.

The only thing I would askis WHAT Optical mouse your using.

You see I have 2, one is a custom painted MS Intellasplorer or however you spell it. Its awsome, and I paid quite a bit for it.

The other is a $15 on specail MS Wireless Optical mouse, and its well... its ok

  7. If it's a USB mouse and you have several other USB devices it might cause this. Mine (Logitech wireless) does the opposite, it freezes while programs shut down or if one of the applications running in the taskbar kicks in. Usually a short duration 1-2 secs. Never had this problem when it was connected to the regular mouse input. I would chance it back, but I'm too lazy to deal with that 'wire snake-pit' behind my computer.
If it works, don't fix it.
