im kind of confused about resize methods. i have used percise bicubic .75 for all my encodes, but is that the right thing to use? when i cap i do it at 720x480, then resize to 352x240 for mpg1 vcd encoding, and apply other filters before that usually, then frameserv. i havent really been able to tell any difference between the modes but i want to do it the right way. i was also wondering what would be the right method for resizing a pal xsvcd mpg2 (converted to avi) from 720x576 down to 480x480 ntsc mpg2 or 352x240 ntsc mpg1. any help appreachiated.

According to Jasc (of paint shop pro fame) Bilinear is for donwsizing, Bicubic is for upsizing. Bicubic will give you a sharper image, but it won't compress as well. Bilinear is also faster.
