    Hello,

Can any of you clever folk out there provide me with a good circuit diagram for a TBC?

Standard Video In / Out connections would be nice.

    Cheers,

    Andy.

PS I am an Electronics Engineer (albeit a lazy one )

No, but if you build something nice and affordable, keep in touch. There's always a steady stream of people ready to buy something. Make something good and for pretty cheap, and it'll sell.

    Good point!

What is average price of a TBC & therefore what is a SENSIBLY 'good' price?

AVT-8710 is about $200, yet still good.
DataVideo TBC-1000 is about $300, excellent

If you could get one for $125 or less, you're good as gold.

This looked interesting, he has a hand drawn schematic on the webpage.
He is using Phillips parts. Might be a place to start.

    Good Luck

It won't be a simple schematic. A TBC like the TBC-1000 is also a full frame buffer and there is a lot of stuff going on inside. Getting the LSI chips would be the hardest part. Then all the support ICs would be tricky. It may end up being cheaper just buying one

People like me don't know squat about how to make them ... just how to use them ... and when.
