This is odd. I have a few DV clips that I'm importing into Premiere Pro. The first two times I tried exporting the video as a CCE-SP-encoded mpeg2 file, I got totally different results.

Clip 1: Encoded at maybe 1.5 fps. Result was fine.

Clip 2: Encoded at something like 30 fps. Result was skewed video. By that I mean it was obviously the video I started with, but it was dramatically skewed horizontally, resulting in basically a diagonally-oriented mess. like / / / instead of --- (with the diagonal being a lot more horizontal than vertical).

So.. What happened? :P Is this one of those common newbie discoveries? I sure am bewildered.

Update on this particular issue. I've narrowed the phenomenon down to two results:

    1) Encoding with the CCE-SP stand-alone encoding application produces proper video.

    2) Encoding with the CCE-SP plugin for Premiere Pro produces the skewed video mentioned in the first post.

It doesn't matter what video clip I use. It doesn't matter what settings, encoding type, first field, etc. And if I use other codecs from within Premiere Pro, I get proper video. It's just the CCE-SP plugin. And, for grins, I have even tried two other versions of CCE-SP, just to be sure.

What in the heck am I doing wrong?
