  1. I just finised encoding an avi file with Panasonic Mpeg encocder. When I play the finished mpeg1 file on my comp the a/v is fine, however when I play it in my dvd player the a/v is out of synch. I tried re-encoding with Lsx Mpeg Encoder and TMPGenc and I get the same result. All of my other Vcd's have worked fine so I don't know what could be wrong. Can anyone help?

  2. I can think of two possibilities.

Firstly, the Panasonic MPEG encoder does something funny with the multiplexing. I don't know what it is, but a native Panasonic encoded MPEG (on VCD setting) will start to have an A/V sync problem on my stand-alone VCD player which is noticable after about 10 minutes. It gets worse as the movie progresses.

I haven't seen a post on this for quite a long time, but early this year and last year, there were a few posts on this phenomenon. Those posts would have probably been deleted by now.

To fix this, all you need to do is to remultiplex the Panasonic encoded MPEG. I find TMPGEnc more than satisfactory for this task. Simply load up the "Simple Multiplex" option, change the setting to "MPEG-1 Video-CD" and save your file.

Now, as you've stated that you tried re-encoding with LSX and TMPGEnc, it suggests to me that something else could be at play. Have you gotten a new batch of media recently?

    Regards.
