  1. I've downloaded a couple of movies using Kazaa, I wanted to convert these to vcd.
The problem is, I can't seem to get the movie on 1 CD. Is this impossible? I'm using TMPGEnc to convert.
I've read something about bitrates and stuff like that, but I can't find these options in TMPGEnc, so I can't lower the total output size.

Would it be better to burn them on 2 CD's instead?

Should I use some other covert program instead?

    ThanX, for any reply

ok first off you need to know 2 things if your dvd player can handle a svcd - but if it doesnt then dont worry you still have a second chance to do this. and if this is just for your computer than I wouldleave it divx.

    get http://www.musclesoft.de/combatman/downloads/dvtool/dvtool024.zip

    1. Insert your movie lenght and your audio as 160kb where it asks then choose the type of cd you have if it is 80 min then choose the 700mb. It is Very important for doing what we are about to do.

2.using the audio 160 then you max will be 2560 and your average is 880 (if using a 90 min movie - if your movie is to long then use 2 cds or else it will look like crap)

3.load your video into tmpge and load the svcd template and then load the unlock template.

    4. use 2pass vbr with the max i gave you and the average bitrate it gave you and leave the min at 0.

change the aspect ratio to 352x240. click on the audio tab and uncheck error protection and change your audio to 160. go back to te first tab and if your dvd player spports svcd then leave it mpeg 2 and if doesnt change it to mpeg one.\

    5. if you want to add differant options then add them in like the soften block noise. then after it is set up the way you want it then click file | save project and save it.
then load the second one and make any changes to it to make it the same. and save its project..

    6. click file|batch encode and add your projects in and click run.

and if your lucky then it comes out with vcd or better quality because of the variable bitrate. to test your quality use the source range and select about 1min of movie and use the mpeg1 setting so you can watch it in media player. encode it and when you play it right click on it playing and zoom to 200 percent and this is a rough estimate of what it will look like i nyour tv.

    good luck

  4. ok, thanx I'll try that

btw If I were to burn it on 2 cd's, would it be possible to somehow enhance the image/sound quality, because on average the movie will have a total file size of 900 Mb. Which means I'll only use like 450 Mb on each disk.

  5. "then load the second one and make any changes to it to make it the same. and save its project.."

I don't get it, what do you mean with the second one?

  6. Do you mean the second avi file of the movie?

  7. Some of the movies are just single files,
if that's the case, does this still work?
