Nerovision distortion on chapters

Hi all, new here in this wonderful forum.

I have a problem that showed up for the first time today. I tried to author a DVD with Nerovision Express. Everything turned out OK, so even when viewing the preview. But when watching the authored and finalized DVD in the DVD player and in the computer I got coloured pixels distortion in the upper and lower edges of the screen. Very frustrating. NB: They only show up some few seconds in the beginning of some of the chapters.

What could possibly have gone wrong here and what should I do to avoid similar problems in the future?

what was the source for your dvd? another DVD? home movies you captured? an avi you downloaded? sounds like it's a downloaded avi and nero can't encode it correctly.

AVI captured from broadcast > encoded to MPEG-2 (8000 KBPS) > then taken into Nerovision Express.....

ok, what mpeg encoder did you use, and is it possible to author with something other than nero? try tmpgenc dvdauthor.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Nero's encoder problems
I suggest you take your avi, encode it in tmpgenc or Mainconcept mpeg encoder and THEN author it in Ulead DVD or DVDLab, and leave Nero for burning, nothing else.

Well... I have encoded it in TMPGenc and then just "imported" the MPEG-2 file into Nerovision Express...

I don't know really if I can afford another DVD authoring programme - is there one that is almost equal to Nerovision Express but working perfectly?

try tmpgenc dvdauthor, there's a free trial. if it works for you it's well worth the money.

Rob. With a properly encoded mpeg, hopefully Nerovision won't mess with it too much...or are you saying that AFTER encoding in tmpgenc, Nerovision has botched it up?
