    any other software that can convert rmvb to mpeg/vcd well...

    Avisynth 2.5.4 with Real Alternative and media player classic.Real Alternative seems to disable Real Player-so you need Media Player Classic for your rm,rmvb files.

    Directshowsource("your rmvb file",fps)

    Load above script in virtualdub with some value for fps.See file information, adjust fps so that video and audio timelength match. Reload in virtualdub to check. Time difference should be a small fraction of a second at the most.
