Yesterday shabubu very kindly sent the following guide for creating pal svcd'd however when following the instructions everything went fine until step 20 where it says save avs, should I save avs and then load it in tmpgenc which if I do gives an error message or should I encode and save which then doesnt encode anything, obviously I havent configured or installed something or I have messed up bigtime somewhere, if anyone one else uses this method could they please explain what should be happening from 19 onwards in a little more detail so I can attempt to get a bit further forward, hopefuly shabubu will be around later if all else fails.
1) Install Avisynth and Guardianknot
2) Open your Vobs in DVD2AVI, press f5 and write down your aspect ratio and frame type (interlace vs progressive)
3) Set Audio track to track 1, and demux all in the other bits.
4) Save your project
5) Run Gknot
6) Press the open button on the bottom left (under dvd2avi)
6) A new window opens, this is your preview
7) Go to the resolution tab in GKnot
click on Pixel button of crop, look at your output window and use the numbers to crop off the black borders
9) Press Smart Crop All button
10) Make sure the aspect ratio is the one of your source
11) Go to the preview window
12) Click View>Resized and make sure it looks OK
13) File>Save AVS
14) New window opens up
15) Select SVCD under resizing
16) Change Resize filter to Bilinear
17) Select Smart Interlacing if your source is interlaced
1 Add the noise filter if your DVD source is noisy
19) If your using CCE then select fool CCE
20) Save the AVS (This is where the problems start)
21) Close GKnot
22) Open TMPGEnc (disable the directshow support in the program settings, has problems with avisynth if this is enabled)
23) Open your .avs file
24) Select your SVCD options, use the calc here under the tools section for your bitrate.
25) Run
Thanks
