    I am rying to convert some Invader Zim .mpeg's using TMPGEnc with very sluggish results. I usually convert at a fairly good rate, but these 4 files are very sluggish, do not show the preview, and I have considerable trouble opening them up in different programs to try to correct them. They say that they are .mpegs, but some mpeg programs don't recongnize them. I have 15min. episodes that are decoding in excess of 48 hours, so I know somethings up (I usually get a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio, closer to the slower side). I have changed nothing about what I usually do, I have converted many files before and have not run into this problem. Please advise, many thanks!

  2. im getting the same problem also..but its encoding all files in general! recently they have been real sluggish, and a 15 minute file takes 7 hours! usually its only 2 hours.??
    my pc specs:
    800 mhz, 300 mb or so of ram (close to 400),win 98SE, and im using tmpeg.
    oh yah its not the hard drives, since i tried defragging a bunch of times too.. -_-;;
    im thinking of reformatting the comp.. @_@
    any help?? thanks..

    You are running much faster than I am, I have a lowly 600mhz with 260mb RAM, I usually encode at a fairly descent clip, which is exactly what happens when I use other files, but the invader zim .mpegs are causing considerable problems. I was just curious if I needed another type of encoder or decoder to use with TMPGEnc in order to make it run faster. Either that or a basic converter to "straighten out" my .mpegs and make them TMPGEnc friendly to the point where I don't grow old waiting for a 15 min. episode to convert
