How does one uninstall the Windows Media Player? Mine quit working and when I try to reinstall it windows says that I have the latest version and won't let me continue.

Thanks for your reply vioxx. The reason I posted the request is because windows media player does not appear in control panel. Iam using winxp.

  4. I've never done this but isn't there a 'repair' option when you insert the XP disk? Maybe you can just 'fix' it instead of removing it. I remember reading about this in the stuff that came with the program and thought that sounded like a good deal. Fortunately I haven't had to deal with anything like this, yet.
If it works, don't fix it.

  5. Install Media Player Classic, or if you still want WMP, try 9. WMP9 is pretty good. A little heavy on resources but it plays awesome.

  6. start/settings/control panel/add-remove programs
click on "add remove windows components"
    scroll to the bottom

That's in 2000, so you may not have it in XP
