How does one uninstall the Windows Media Player? Mine quit working and when I try to reinstall it windows says that I have the latest version and won't let me continue.

Thanks for your reply vioxx. The reason I posted the request is because windows media player does not appear in control panel. Iam using winxp.

I've never done this but isn't there a 'repair' option when you insert the XP disk? Maybe you can just 'fix' it instead of removing it. I remember reading about this in the stuff that came with the program and thought that sounded like a good deal. Fortunately I haven't had to deal with anything like this, yet.
If it works, don't fix it. -
Install Media Player Classic, or if you still want WMP, try 9. WMP9 is pretty good. A little heavy on resources but it plays awesome.

start/settings/control panel/add-remove programs
click on "add remove windows components"
scroll to the bottom
That's in 2000, so you may not have it in XP
