Burn speed has changed after re-installing RecordNow Max

I had a virus and to be brief had to format and re-install everything.
When I come to burn with RecordNowMax I can now only burn at max, mid and min speed, rather than the x2, x4, x8 etc before I re-installed everyuthing.
It's version 4.5 and I've run the pxengine358 update.
Can anyone help me with a fix?
Trouble is, no matter whether I select min, max or mid my 4.4GB disks all take 8mins which, considering I'm using x4 media (and not x8) is too fast.

I use RecordNow DX(px v5.07) and min/mid/max is all I get when trying to burn DVD.
When I burn a CD I can select 4-24x though.

Yeah, I'm fine with CD's (x2, x4, x8 etc) too but very odd I could burn DVD's at x2, x4, x8 etc only 24hrs ago with the very same program.
What the heck has changed!?!?!?
Worry is, if I use Ritek GO4's and burn at x8's they're fine on my standalone DVD player, but not on my brother-in-laws (I have to drop to x4) but fear as everything is only taking 8/9 mins everything (regardless of whether I set it at mid, min and max) is burning at x8
