  1. Ok, so I'm new to all of this, but what I'm trying to do is create a dvd with menus from .avi files.

I have read alot on this forum and it seems that some believe the best way to do this is to join the avi files and convert and others believe leaving them seperate and converting is best so that audio sync problems don't occur. At first I wanted to put 13 files on one dvd but sizzles 9 button bug wouldn't let me, which was why I thought about joining the files. I didn't like the quality anyways however so I'm just shooting for 8 files now.

So everything was fine at first, I created one m2v and ac3 file in ffmpegx from the first avi file im using to test it out in sizzle. I created my menu, added sound and customized chapters, but when i created the image I had audio sync problems with apples dvd player. VLC did not have audio problems but the chapters did not work correctly. I'm wondering if its my .avis that are the problem or if sizzle 0.5 is just lame. I also tried joining files with ffmpegx and it they worked in both vlc and quicktime for the first 3 avis, but as soon as I added the 4th the audio was messed up on the last portion.

I know that sizzle .1 will most likely work better, but I want to create my own menus so any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Did you try the new Sizzle? It claims to have fixed the 9 button issue.
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

  3. just tried the new sizzle, haha I didn't even know there was a newer version Still doesn't work though. Apple dvd player gives audio sync problem, vlc returns to the menu when I hit "next chapter", but only after the first few chapters. It also says my time is at 7:39 when its closer to 15:00, so I don't know why the timing gets messed up.

Alas, I do not. I'm kind of dumb also so I think you are talking about a normal dvd player, not my laptop player, correct? If so, I would also like to find out what a player would do, I guess I'll find out in a week when I get home to my order of dvd-rs. Or maybe I'll hit up radioshack or something today for a dvdrw

Anyone have some suggestions until then?

i was talking about a settop dvd player hooked to a tv
Sizzle's dvd's are not the most compatible with Dvd player and you may often find that though it looks/plays bad on there from the HD it may play fine on your regular dvd player. hence the dvdrw question so if it does not work there also you can just erase the dvd

you can order them if you dont mind waiting or just go to the local store [wll pay more though] and get a few to try it
