I've tried installing the Matroska pack and the lite version and I still have no luck, I can see the video in virtualdub so I know there is nothing wrong with it. I've been trying for quite a while, is there something I'm doing wrong? It's also the same with ogg media with subtitles, I installed all the neccesarry filters and codecs and nothing. strange thing is if there are no subs then the file plays fine. btw, I have vobsub and directvobsub and I am using Windows Media Player Classic.

here's some info from Gspot about a .ogm that I have been trying to play:
Name.........: Angelic Layer 01 [a-g] (DivX511) [813C683E].ogm
Filesize.....: 175 MB (or 180,210 KB or 184,535,800 bytes)
Runtime......: ?
Video Codec..: DivX 5.0
Video Bitrate: ?
Audio Codec..: ogg_vorbis_1 (0x674f) Ogg Vorbis
Audio Bitrate: 104 kb/s (52/ch, stereo) VBR
Frame Size...: 544x400 (1.36:1) [=34:25]
I have the ogg filters and subtitle filter, I also have ogg vorbis, also rendering fails when I try to play this file, also if I take out the subs it plays fine. -
Not sure, but i thought i remembered reading about different types of SUB files. I'll just have a look in the Tools section......yes, here's something.
In the tools section, the Subtitle Tool details the subtitle formats it converts between:
"Subtitle Tool is program for editing, time shifting, speed changing, joining, spliting and checking subtitles. Reads about 7 subtitle formats (MicroDVD, SRT-SubRip and their modifications). Convert into MicroDVD, SRT, SSA".

Does VobSub play all of the different formats?
I would uninstall VobSub if it were me. I think Matroska Pack uses the DirectVobSub (VSFilter.ax) which is newer. I don't know if installing VobSub (older) over Matroska Pack (newer) will disable the newer filter, but it can't hurt to try.
