You need dvd2avi. Load the mpeg 2 file to dvd2avi and select file>save project. The program will create 2 files, a dummy one for video and one mpa for audio.
Feed to TMPEGenc those files. Load then the template you wish and hit encode. That's it!

See also the guide of this site "mpeg 2 to mpeg 2" for more details

  3. Thanks, but I have a problem: my MPEG2 file is 544x576 (PAL) recorded with Hauppage via satellite ... when i open it with DVD2AVI I see very large green areas, and so the video is very strange.
But i can see "perfectly" this video with mpeg2 elecard decoder for Windows Media Player (but there are 9 micro-square in the upper right and i see the upper side in the lower part, as if there is a mirror) ....

What can i do ?!? to see correctly this video file ?!?

    Thanks again!

A mirror effect is done in tmgpenc, thats what caused it

It is not your fault, but tmpgenc has some trouble with encoding to svcd, such as slight jumpiness in video if you encoded to widescreen
