  1. Hello everybody, I have recentley obtained a mass of (original) NTSC DVD movies as gifts from over seas. I Live in europe and my setup(s) will only allow me to play PAL dvds!!!. I am reletivley new @ this but i do have basic knowledge of DVDdecrypter,Shrink,Tmpgenc author etc. What i would like to do is convert the NTSC dvds to PAL dvdrs with little quality loss (movie only). I have searched the forums but i cant find a solution.

p.s. I have converted one of the films to vcd pal but the quality is not good enough.

Many thanks in advance to NE 1 who can help!.
    Thanks For Coming!

  2. Are you actually sure that you need to do this? I ask because most DVD players and TV's in Europe are multiformat and will work with PAL and NTSC discs. Have you actually tried playing them, if not give it a go and you may get a pleasant surprise with what happens.

  4. I think you are wrong.
I do this on a regular basis.

The issue is not the dvd-player but the television set.
The television set must be able to do PAL-60. Otherwise you will get no picture or a black/white picture.

Use the SCART connector. It has component connection as well. You can get adaptors for that.

Otherwise the only way forward is a total recode through virtualdup and tmpenc.

    Good luck

  5. TMPGenc Xpress 3.0 will encode directly from vob files. That may cut out a step if you have to re-encode.
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--
