I have sifted through the source file in order to make a DVD from some old VCDs, and everything is fine until I get to the output stage. Then I get this message:
Read Error Occured at address 00516e68 of module 'TMPGEndDVDAuthor.exe' with 00000140
    What gives?

  2. You could try downloading a newer/updated release and try again.
PS: Does the VCD have 48khz Audio or 44.1 ?

According to the screen I get when I try to add the files to the project, it actually has 224 kbit MPEG 2.0 audio. I kid you not (I got these VCDs kind of third-hand).

  4. Every VCD has 224kbps MPEG 2.0 (Stereo) audio files
But that doesn't say it it's 44.1 khz (Standard VCD) or 48khz (VCD to be burned on DVD media).

You shouldn't have to process the video at all. I'm a little unclear on why you are doing so.

I have just figured out that the audio component of these files is 44.1Khz. So now the question is merely how I convert them.

TMPGEnc DVD Author can do the resampling for you. Or you can demux the mpegs and use FFMPEGgui to resample into a new mp2, then you'll have to mux the new mp2 with the mpeg. TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools can do the muxing/demuxing for you.

Okay... how exactly do I get TMPGEnc to do the resampling?

You mean TDA? All you have to do is add your mpeg and it will be resampled in the output stage.

I found an option to set the output track as Linear PCM with 48Khz audio. It seems to have solved the problem, although I suspect the end product will sound like cack.

Not to mention it will take up a lot more disc space.

Well, I've burned the disc, and it seems to work just fine on the SD-1300. So thanks for all the help. I'm so glad someone pointed me to this site. I feel like I can accomplish anything video now.
