In very general terms for some out non-mathematical viewers, an equation equals something and an expression does not. An expression can have value but that value is determined by the one stating or using the expression. Thayne obviously had some high value for his variable but did not share what that was, therefore rendering the expression pointless to everyone except him...and I just wanted to know what it was.

I make this point btw due to the fact that I'm very suspicious
