  1. Hi Guys

    Hope someone can help..

I downloaded an DIVX File which seems to have been currupted.. The file size is 620meg. When i play the file it gets to 32 mins and goes all blocky and stops. I tried to move it over 32 mins but always goes back to the start.

I tried using DIVXFIX and that did not help it found curruption but droped the files size to 280 meg. So its cut most of the movie.

I tried AVIdefreeze that trys to fix it but again chops the file size down to 280meg.

Virtual dub also stops at the same time frame and wont go beyond 32 mins.

Is there any program that will alow me to chop the file into peaces to find the currupted part and chop it out ?

I tried avi chop but that just has a spaz attack.

    Thanks for your help ..

Is this when you load or play the avi file or when you try to save it? Have you tried dragging the pointer to the end of the file in VDub?

It is also possible that the file is just totally corrupt after 32 mins. You might just have garbage after 32 mins. of video.

Go to explorer, right click the avi file, choose properties and then details; what does it say about media length, num. of frames etc. ?

  3. Hello, I have the same exact problem with Star Wars right now....First see if TMPGEnc will open the file. then goto advanced and double click source range. again see if you can slide the bar to the end or the movie. if you can then try to encode with whatever template you want or need...I gaurantee you will get a floating decimal point error at the corrupt frame. write down the frame # it stopped at. trya gain to encode..use source range and just add about 50 frames past the point it stopped and try again. e-mail me if i can help more...there are ways.
