  1. hello, i have been trying 2 open freaky friday in tmpgenc but i get a error messgae saying that it is unsupported or something it is a avi file. also i have a file thats fps is 29.97 what is it encoded2? pal or something else. btw i am new 2 this sort of thing so i might not have explained myself properly.

    Try the TMPGEnc problems page here.

    I would suggest you read the What is VCD, SVCD and DVD sections at the top left also. This should show you the limitations/features of each "format" so to speak, as well as show you the difference between PAL and NTSC.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. k, i have managed 2 sort that file out. Now i have another file that when i try and open says it needs a video for windows compatible codec to compress video. DirectShow codecs such as those used by windows media player are not suitable. But i have all the codecs i need installed this is the first time it has said this.

    Obviously not! Run the AVI thru GSpot to see what codecs in use...

  5. i have installed all the codecs because i have made other vcds and that is the only time it has said that. i have ran gspot and it says i dont have the codecs installed but i have!

    Being able to play it does not prove you have the right codec for some applications to open it. Believe what Gspot is telling you!

  7. ok i am tryin 2 take a screenshot but the max u can have is 50kb on this site. any how it says i need the divx codecs but i have them installed.

    So cut the screenshot down to size so that it is under 50KB.

  10. k i have managed 2 get it 2 work (dont ask how long story). i have burned it on2 a disk but the audio is 20 seconds ahead on the mpeg but fine on the xvid.
